Gauge is important! The shawl is designed to be petite - just 13”/33 cm down the back. If your gauge is too tight, you may end up with a beautiful kerchief.

  • Written & charted, both included
  • Test knit and tech edited
  • Fast project for most knitters
  • One skein of Tosh Chunky
  • Or other heavy Aran or Chunky yarn 165 yards or longer

Litla means Little One in Icelandic.

This year, I’m writing a love story. A novel that takes place in tenth century Iceland--a place of rugged danger and breathtaking beauty. A world where Norse gods are real and women’s dyepots overflow with lichens and birch leaves. I recently traveled to Iceland to visit thousand-year-old farms and black volcanic landscapes.

Along the way, I started collecting ideas for shawls, stoles and scarves that are related to my fictional farm and the romantic story that takes place there. This one is named for one of my characters.

Six shawls & wraps

I’m designing six shawls and wraps over the course of a year and putting them into a collection. If you click on the source above, you can pre-order the collection.
