This classic cardigan is quick to make and comfortable to wear.

The V neck shape has been carefully designed to fit around a little one’s small neck and shoulders perfectly, and special attention has been given to minimising bulky seam structure and excess fabric.

Knitted in pieces from the bottom upwards with short row shaping at the shoulders, the body pieces are joined together using the 3 needle bind off technique before picking up the sleeve stitches and working down to the cleverly designed cuff (wide enough for a helpful adult to put their fingers up to help with dressing, and worked in the round to avoid a bulky seam if it’s turned back in wear).

I chose this yarn for its cosy alpaca/wool blend composition, but any heavy DK weight can be used, making it a great year-round go-to for every tot around town!
