The hat in this set has ribs from the top to the edge. The wide trim on the edge is worked into the body of the hat, not sewn on later. The brim is has a stiff stitch to keep it in place. An elegant photography prop, this set is also fun just to dress up baby. The pattern is sized for a newborn -- the baby in the photo is less than 2 weeks old.
