A new month, and the first month of the autumn (in the northern hemisphere) and the head is full of ideas and projects to start during the cozy indoor months to come. This is the first pattern I release this autumn.
It was lovely to work, seeing the branch of leaves growing so fast and beautifully.

Design and construction:
The design is seamless, featuring a branch of leaves-pattern on the sides of the fronts and back, as well as on the sleeves.
The lower body is worked bottom up and back and forth to underarms, where work is divided and the upper right/left front, and upper back are worked back and forth in separate pieces. The sts of the shoulders are worked together from WS using the 3-needle bind-off method (or grafting). The sleeves are worked top down and in the round, from picked-up and knit sts around the armhole openings. The neck-edge and button-bands are worked back and forth from picked-up and knit sts.

Sizes
Finished chest measurements, after washing/blocking and worked at gauge:
Size 1: 0 – 3 months: 44.5 cm/17.5”
Size 2: 3 – 6 months: 48 cm/19” Size 3: 6 – 9 months: 51 cm/20”
Size 4: 1 year – 18 months: 55 cm/21.5” Size 5: 2 – 3 years: 58.5 cm/23
Size 6: 3 – 4 years: 64 cm/25”
Size 7: 5 – 6 years: 66 cm/26”
The sample is worked in size 2 (3 – 6 months).

Materials
Yarn: I recommend a fingering weight yarn with great stitch-definition, that works up to gauge. I used the fingering weight yarn ”Merino Singles” from Tieke Garne und Wolle, in the colourway Glaze, to work the cardigan.
This yarn comes in skeins of 100 gr/3.53 oz and 366 m/400 yards. Of this specific yarn you will need approximately 250/300/350/400/450/500/550 m = 275/330/385/440/490/550/600 yards. Needles: size 3 mm/US2.5 (or size to obtain gauge).
Notions: 4 removable stitch-markers, separate holders (or waste-yarn), blocking tools, a blunt tapestry needle, 6/7/7/8/8/8/8 buttons 12 – 13 mm /0.5” across.

Gauge
28 sts and 38 rows/rounds in stockinette sts = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”

The pattern
The lace-pattern is charted, as well as written out.
All measurements are given in inches, as well as in cm’s.
There is a schematic.
The buttonhole-bands are written out with precise placements of the buttonholes.
