Little Iqaluit
PATTERN DETAILS:
This is a knitting pattern in English for a long-sleeved pullover sweater and matching hat using a fair isle/stranded colorwork technique. The sweater and hat will fit an 18-inch doll similar to American Girl® dolls. The sweater has a colorwork stranded design around the yoke and corrugated ribbing for hem, cuffs and hat band. The sweater has a Henley-style placket opening with buttonholes at the neck which can be worn at the front or back. Using seamless, top-down construction, the sweater is knit flat back and forth with both knit and purl rows until the plackets of the Henley opening are joined, then the sweater is knit in the round. The sleeves are placed on scrap yarn in order to complete the body. The sleeve stitches are then transferred back to the needles and additional stitches are picked up from the underarm. The sleeves are knit in the round using either double pointed needles or magic loop technique on circular needles. The hat is knitted in the round from the brim to the top and finished off with a pompom. The hat has a colorwork stranded design above the brim. The complete PDF pattern consists of written instructions with photos as well as charts for the colorwork and is 17 pages. This pattern is designed by me and was tested by 5 other knitters.
