Little Knotted Bag
About the pattern
The bag is knitted in rounds from the bottom up. The body is knitted first and afterwards the handle is worked in two parts. The knot is tied at the end before the handle is sewed together. Finally the knot is placed above the joint.
Size:
one size
Measurements of the finished piece:
approx. 22 cm wide & 21 cm high
Yarn:
200 g Friends Cotton 8/8 (50 g - 75 m)
The bag is knitted with 2 strands held together. If you are going with two different colours you need 100 g of each colour.
The yarn suggestion can be used as a rough guideline, as the bag can also be knitted with other materials and different needle sizes.
Gauge: 16 sts x 24 rows - 10 x 10 cm stockinette stitch on 4,5 mm needles 2 strands held together (washed & blocked)
Material:
4,5 mm circular needle (80 or 100 cm), 4,5 mm double pointed needles (these aren`t necessary as they are used to work the handle & you can also work it with a circular needle, I preferred using double pointed needles, but you are going to need a second pair of needles for the part, where the handle is sewn together), tapestry needle, 5 stitch markers
Stitches & techniques:
Judy`s Magic Cast On, bind off, kitchener stitch
