I designed this hat in the same yarn and slouchy style as a favorite hat that I wear all the time. I love floral patterns and enjoy the beauty that God has made all around me in nature, so I want to bring that into my knitting designs. This is such a soft hat when knit in the suggested Shine Sport yarn, that it would be a great one for chemo patients who have lost their hair.

The pattern features a slouchy fair isle hat in 5 colors of Knitpicks Shine Sport yarn and the colors are listed in the pattern. One skein of each yarn with be sufficient to complete one hat with plenty leftover to create other projects. A full color chart is included in the pattern. The instructions and chart feature a “jogless” join at the beginning of each round at the top of the pattern, and there are tips for a “jogless” stripe technique as well as how to weave in yarn ends as you begin and end new colors.

This hat will fit an average sized woman’s head at 22 in/56cm circumference. After blocking, this slouchy fitting hat measures 10.4in/26.4 cm in height and the unstretched body circumference is 21.33in/54.2cm. The Shine Sport yarn can be easily blocked and gently stretched to a larger circumference if desired.
