Crochet a Little Mermaid doll with a Japanese Kawaii look: big-head, small body, and super-cute face details. The simplified, quick-to-make hair captures the wavy, flowing look of her underwater tresses. At 6 inches (15 cm) tall, the Little Mermaid is fast and easy to make. (Doll does not stand on its own.)

Handsome Prince, human little mermaid in pink or blue dress, and Fishy Friend crochet patterns are available separately in my shop.

Crabby Companion crochet pattern also available: every mermaid needs a crustacean chaperone. Make this easy 3 inch (7.5 cm) friend to accompany your mermaid doll’s adventures.

To make my collection of 12 princess dolls, see the JanaGeek Princess Patterns ebook.

You are welcome to sell the dolls you make with my pattern if you give written credit or a link to “Jana Whitley Designs on Ravelry.”

This pattern is available in both English and German. (Thanks to Hanna Baureis for the German translation!)

Pattern is for those with intermediate crochet skills and basic needle-work skills. Doll parts are made in spiral rounds. To make doll, you will need to know how to:
-- read a crochet pattern
-- chain
-- slip stitch
-- single crochet
-- single crochet decrease or invisible decrease
-- half-double crochet
-- double crochet
-- triple crochet
-- color switch

Pattern includes:
-- definitions of stitch abbreviations
-- materials list
-- recommended yarn brands and colors and where to find materials online
-- instructive color photos

Please note: the JanaGeek princess patterns on Ravelry are different patterns than the Disney Princess Crochet Kit patterns from Thunder Bay press. I am the designer of both, but the Kit dolls have bigger heads and smaller bodies than the JanaGeek dolls.

I am happy to answer questions via email.
