Little Monsters
Welcome to this little monster-making adventure! This pattern includes instructions for two delightfully easy crochet monsters, each with their own quirky personality. The first is a short, squishy slime monster with one big eye that’s full of expression. The second is a derpy creature with tiny legs and a long, wobbly eye stalk. Both monsters are quick to make and perfect for using up small amounts of yarn.
The pdf will be available for download immediately after purchase. The pattern is written in English and uses US terminology.
SKILL LEVEL:
This pattern is designed to be beginner-friendly and mostly no-sew — the limbs are joined as you go, so there’s minimal stitching at the end. If you’re comfortable with a magic circle, single crochets, increases, decreases, and closing rounds, you’re ready to bring them to to life! For the trickier bits, clear step-by-step instructions and numbered photos will guide you through the process with ease.
SUPPLIES:
Double knit (DK) cotton yarn was used for the sample. You may substitute with any yarn of your choice. For the sample 27m/30yards of green yarn and 32m/35yards were used. You will also need small amounts of yarn fo the facial features, a 3.5mm/E hook, sewing needle and fiberfill.
SIZE:
When crafted with the recommended yarn and hook, monster 1 stands about 7 cm (2.8 inches) tall and monster 2 about 14 cm (5.5 inches). You’re welcome to experiment with different yarns or hook sizes to create your own unique version, but beware… your monster may grow larger or smaller than expected!
