This is a simple and elegant Granny square ideal for few or no colour changes. Using a variegated or graduated yarn works incredibly well for a more grown up look.

It has a lovely texture between the different stitches and has a calming feel to it.

Using approximately 20g of Stylecraft Batik Swirl in Purple Mist, with a 4mm hook I created the pictured square. This means I would get 10 squares per ball of yarn, and with the yarn being variegated each one looks a little different.
