The Little Raven (Corvus mellori) is a bird species of the family Corvidae, a native to southeastern Australia and a regular visitor to my garden. These intelligent and inquisitive birds have beautiful black feathers that are so glossy, they shine almost white in the bright sunlight. As a talking bird, the global symbolism of ravens is often complex and can represent insight, transition, transformation and a connection between the material world and the world of spirits. Choose between the small and large fingering weight or the DK options and knit yourself a feathery, triangular shawl creation. Use glossy black yarn to represent the shawl’s namesake, or choose the colours of your favourite bird and let this sweet project fly off your needles.

Little Raven is a collaboration with my partner, who has published his first short story to accompany the release. There is knitting in it!
