Little Red-breasted Robin

A cute little, red-breasted crochet robin bird with a nest adorned with leaves and berries.

A Scraps of Yarn Project:
The perfect project to do to use up all your bits and pieces from your leftover yarn.

This is completely optional, and it can be worked in coordinated colors.

Difficulty Level | Skills Required
Easy
Basic stitches in simple variations, simple repeats, color changes, shaping and finishing.
You will need to know basic stitches like SC (single crochet) and DC (double crochet).
Special stitches explained and provided in the instructions.

Materials
✔ Hook – 3, 00 mm
✔ Scissors
✔ Yarn needle
✔ Small amount of stuffing/fiberfill
✔ Optional – safety eyes (small)

Yarn:
Vinnis Colours – DK Nikkim 100% cotton (50 grams/119 meters/130 yards)
Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light.

• A - Antique (579) – approx. 5/9 grams
• B – Brick Red (574) – approx. 2/5 grams
• C – Golden Brown (568) - approx. 5/10 grams
• E – Bottle Green (594) – approx. 2/5 grams

Yarn Substitute:
Using the same type of yarn throughout the project is recommended. The pattern suggests DK yarn (Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light Worsted), but you are not limited to this type of yarn. Any yarn can be used if you take into consideration your sizing for the project will differ.

Tension | Gauge
Gauge is NOT necessary for this project to be perfect.
However COUNTING your stitches will ensure a true success of this project!

Size
Robin – approx. 5 cm / 2 inches in length (beak to tail/wing to wing)
approx. 3 cm / 1 inch in width (breast to top)
Nest – approx. 7 cm / 3 inches in circumference
Nest depth – approx. 3 cm / 1 inch

Remember – if you use/choose a different yarn weight/hook size your project will be a different size!
