I love cats, and realised I haven’t crocheted nearly enough of them! So I’ve decided to design a cute little cat, made all in one piece with no seams or sewing!

This pattern is fairly beginner-friendly, though there are a few different techniques used that are intermediate in difficulty.

Materials:

• size 4 Medium acrylic yarn in any colour (Bernat Premium is my go-to)
• 3.5mm crochet hook
• stuffing
• 12mm safety eyes, 1 pair (optional)
• scrap of yarn or embroidery thread in pink (for the nose)
• scrap of yarn or embroidery thread in black (for the mouth and eyes)

Abbreviations:

• MR = magic ring
• Sc = single crochet
• Inc = increase
• Sc cluster = single crochet cluster. (Pick up a loop through st and yarn over, pull through first loop only) x4, yarn over and pull through all loops.
• St(s) = stitch(es)
• FLO = front loops only
• BLO = back loops only
• Esc = extended single crochet
• Dc = double crochet
• Picot = picot. Ch 2, sl st in 2nd ch.
• Sl st = slip stitch
• Joined dc = joined double crochet. Instead of yarn over to make first loop, pick up a loop through side of previous st, then complete dc like normal.
• Rep = repeat
• Dc cluster = double crochet cluster. (Yarn over and pick up a loop through st and yarn over, pull through first two loops) x5, yarn over and pull through all loops.
• Rnd(s) = round(s)
• Dec = invisible decrease
