Have you ever wanted your own little snail friend? Are you sick and tired of regular snails who never call you back? Who never want to do what you want to do? Who don’t know how to communicate or really get in touch with their feelings? Well then, why not make your own! This 38 page pattern will guide you through how to make a little snail man complete with two different styles of arms (with or without elbows), two different styles of tails (short or long), a shell or spots (if you want to make a slug), and, of course, tentacles and wiggly mouth bits. This pattern is written with US terminology and is intended for intermediate crocheters or ambitious beginners. It includes a glossary of terms, list of materials, and pictures to help you along the way. The final product, depending on materials and hook size, ranges from 9” tall to 11” tall and 3” wide to 6” wide. Gauge isn’t that important as long as you use a similar weight yarn for the main body and shell, or a lighter weight for the shell so it’s not too big. I used a 2.5 mm hook with medium weight 4 yarn, and I think the porportions look good, but you can make it with larger yarn as long as the stitches are tight.
