If you’ve knitted one pair of socks before, you can do this pattern!

This pattern is worked from the toe up, which I find allows you to be as efficient as possible with your yarn. It is written for two colours, but you can do it in a single colour or use it as a scrappy project and stripe as many colours in as you’d like!

These toe-up, two colour striped socks include a simple but moreish stitch creating a set of ‘wings’ up the middle of the instep.
With a picot edge cuff and easy Yarn Over increase toe, these are some of my favourite go-to socks!

This pattern is written in S (M , L , XL) widths, however it is suitable for any division of 4 stitches and can be altered to whatever length you desire. If you can, I highly recommend drawing around the foot of whoever you’re knitting for and using that as your guide.

S = 60 stitches per round / length for UK shoe size 3 - 4.5 / EU 35.5 - 37.5 / US (women’s) 5 - 6.5 / 22 - 22.8cm / 8.6 - 8.9in

M = 64 stitches per round / length for UK shoe size 5 - 7 / EU 38 - 41 / US (women’s) 7 - 9.5 / 23 - 24.8cm / 9.1 - 9.7in

L = 68 stitches per round / length for UK shoe size 7.5 - 9 / EU 41.5 - 43.5 / US (men’s) 8 - 9.5 / 25 - 26.5cm / 9.9 - 10.4in

XL = 72 stitches per round / length for UK shoe size 9.5 - 10 / EU 44 / US (men’s) 10 - 10.5 / 26.8 - 27.2cm / 10.5 - 10.7in

Yarn & Gauge:

Approx 100g fingering weight yarn (I used Mondim by Retrosaria Rosa Pomar)
Size 2.25mm needles, at a gauge of 8st and 12rows per 2.5cm in stockinette stitch in the round. I personally use Double Pointed
Needles (DPNs) but you can use magic loop technique on a circular needle with a long cable, or 9in circulars once you get past the
toe.

The largest size shouldn’t require more than 100g total of yarn, however it all depends how long you like the leg to be!
