Little Zongzi
Free pattern viewable at: https://www.sweetsofties.com/2025/11/little-zongzi.html
The Little Zongzi is a quick, easy, and no-sew amigurumi tutorial. This pattern makes a small, mini zongzi that’s about 2 inches in length, and can be turned into a good luck charm, keychain, or jewelry item (e.g., earring, necklace). Dress it up with a tassel, beads, embroidery, and more! This pocket sized pattern is designed using plush yarn for a soft, squishy result, but other yarns like cotton or acrylic can also be used. The PDF pattern comes with progress photos to help a beginner through the process.
About the Zongzi: Zongzi are traditional Chinese glutinous rice dumplings wrapped and cooked in bamboo leaves. They’re made with either sweet fillings (e.g., red bean paste) or savory fillings (e.g., salted egg yolk, sausage, and other meats). The dish is a staple for the Dragon Boat Festival.
