ATTENTION This pattern includes many versions between sweater and long dress

This design is a child adaptation of my first ever design #LividusKnitDesign . It is also the first time I design for kids so I’m very excited to start to see mommies and daughters in their matching Lividus outfits!

The pattern is worked top down starting on the collar, then you’ll be doing some increases on the shoulders. It then separates the sleeves for knitting the front and back panel where, at last, you’ll be doing the inserts and the skirt is knitted until your desired length. You can knit the sleeves whenever you like to.

You can use any similar yarn to match the gauge just remember that different yarn compositions might have a very different behavior after some usage. * see attention note on gauge

  • the full version is for the long dress, however you can make it as long as you like, it can even be a sweater for which you’ll have some suggestions on the pattern so that you can get a better fit. Always remember that this is an approximation and it can vary with all the options that are presented throughout this pattern.

NEEDLES & Other
A pair of of 4mm (US 6 needles); a pair of 5mm (US 7 needles); 60–120 cm (24–47 in) cables; stitch holders or scrap yarn, 7 stitch markers and 1 unique m for the BOR; a tapestry needle to weave in the ends; 3mm crochet needle and approx. 3 m of elastic string.

GAUGE
In pattern (k1tbl, p2):
23 sts x 27 rows before blocking
20 sts x 26 rows after blocking in 10 x 10 cm (4 in) with 2 strands of Jardim by Rosários4 on 5mm needles.

In stockinette stitch:
21 sts x 27 rows before blocking
29 sts x 25 rows after blocking in 10 x 10 cm (4in) with 1 strand of Jardim and one strand of Aurora on 5 mm.

ATTENTION: Due to the cotton content and superwash wool, the nature of this yarn has a lot of stretch and the finished item gauge after some wear will be:16 sts x 28 rows in pattern.*
If using a yarn with a different composition your gauge may not stretch as much and your finished garment will have a tighter fit. You may need to follow this ‘after usage’ gauge.
