Did you know peacocks originated from India? Liya the Indian Peacock just works – the beautiful bright colours, the elegance and she proudly wears her bindi. What a fun make! Part of my #amigurumiworldfriends collection, it wouldn’t be complete without her!

The yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of the finished item. My Liya the Indian Peacock is approximately 25cm tall (9 ¾ inches).

Notes:
 A yarn with no stretch is best for amigurumi, I ordinarily use cotton or cotton blend.
 Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round (unless it says otherwise).
 I crochet loosely and use a 2.75mm hook with 8ply yarn. Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
 To change colours, yarn over on the stitch prior with the new colour to ensure you have that colour on the hook for the stitch you need it for.
 For this pattern, the following yarns were used:
o LIGHT BLUE = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Col. 434 Marine Blue
o BLUE = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Col. 435 Kingfisher Blue
o YELLOW = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Col. 422 Daffodil Yellow
o PURPLE = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Col. 443 Tea Rose
o LIME = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Col. 429 Lime Green
 I have used embroidered the eyes for this pattern. Please ensure that there are no loose fittings.
