Playing with increases and decreases in a pleated garter stitch structure led to this stitch pattern originally developed for my Waves Scarf design. However, worked up on big needles in chunky yarn the peaks of this fun and intriguing pattern make me think of lizards!

The hat is a quick and quirky knit, and you are likely to want to make more than one! The pattern features three different versions knit up in different yarns and yarn combos, as well as notes on combining yarns and sizing the pattern up and down.
The instructions for the lizard pleats stitch pattern are both written and charted.
