The Local Hero Fingerless Gloves keep hands warm, but fingers still usable while doing the heroic day-to-day work of building community! This pattern was written for the Local Hero yarn created in Asheville, NC at Purl’s Yarn Emporium. Local Hero is a completely locally-sourced, milled, and dyed yarn dedicated to celebrating individuals who serve our local community through their commitment to justice, equality, and creativity. Each colorway honors a living local hero in Asheville, NC with 25% of sales of each hero’s colorway going to their community project. 100% of online sales of patterns also go to their projects. Patterns are free in the store with purchase of the yarn.

Note about the Fingerless Gloves: Gloves are 2x2 rib at the top and bottom with a reverse stockinette section with extended lines from the ribbing. Like with the Local Hero Hat, you will turn your completed piece inside out for the reverse stockinette effect with connected lines: a reminder of the transformative power of “behind-the-scenes” community work…plus, less purling!

Gloves can be knit with dpns or using magic loop technique.
