Inspired to the golden crosses created by the Lombard Goldsmiths, this cabled hat features a unique cable design. The Lombards started producing these golden crosses as they left behind their original pagan religion and moved on to Christianity. By they they had occupied most of Italy. The crosses substituted a number of styles of pagan amulets, but retained decorations strictly connected to their former pagan religion and their tradition. Several examples of these crosses, including the one that directly inspired this hat, can be seen at the Museo Archeologico in Milan.
The hat is knitted seamlessly from the bottom up, starting from a simple single rib which morphs into a more complex rib pattern which, in turn, blends into the cable pattern. The pattern is available in three sizes, from child to large-headed adult.

Il cappello è lavorato in tondo a partire da un semplice bordo a coste, che diventa più complesso dopo pochi giri e infine subisce una metamorfosi che lo trasforma nel motivo a trecce. Il modello è disponibile in tre taglie, bambino, ragazzo o donna e uomo.
