This cardigan features long, lean lines, and a dramatic center-back pleat. The body is worked in one piece from bottom up to the armholes. The pleat is knitted in and bound-off. Separate pieces are worked for the back yoke, collar, and sleeves. The sleeves are knit in the round and sewn into the armhole.

Bust with cardigan held closed (two sides of shawl collar held touching each other, but not overlapping) 33 (35, 37, 41, 46, 49) inches/ 84 (89, 94, 104, 117, 124) cm. Size S is shown in photo.

Gauge
4 inches/10cm = 16 sts x 20 rows in St st on larger needles; 4 inches/ 10 cm = 14.5 sts x 24 rows in seed stitch on smaller needles.

Yarn
Cascade Ecological Wool (100% Peruvian Highland Wool; 478 yards/437 m, 8.82 oz/250 grams, shade 8018 (light grey); 3(3, 4, 4, 4, 4) skeins.

Needles
Sizes 9 (5.5mm) and 8 (5mm), 32 inch circular needles and sizes 9 (5.5mm) and 8 (5mm), double pointed needles for sleeves (or use magic loop method for sleeves).

Adjust needle size to obtain gauge.
