I love cabled sweaters, but sometimes the cabling is just too much! For this sweater, I created a cable only on the yoke, for a simple braided look. With thicker yarn, this sweater works up in no time flat, so it’s a perfect last minute gift for that special little one! Be sure to look out for the adult version, as well, and you can make one for the whole family!

This sweater is cozier than other cabled sweaters, because I’ve anchored the crossed stitches, avoiding unsightly holes between stitches. Also, if you’re new to cabling, I’ve given extensive picture instructions and clear and concise descriptions for the cabling rows, if this method is new to you! You will need a basic understanding of the usual crochet stitches, slip stitch, half double crochet, double crochet, and double treble crochet.

This lovely child’s sweater pattern comes in sizes 3T (22”) to 14/16 (34”). You will need a 6.5mm hook, and 300-900 yards of #5 yarn. I used Red Heart Hygge, and the fuzziness came out beautifully! As always you are welcome to reach out if you have any questions about the pattern. Once the pattern is purchased, you may sell your finished items, as long as you give credit to me as the designer. I can be found on Instagram @SpringintoFall Designs, and Ravelry as SpringintoFall. Also check out my blog at springintofall.design.blog. I’d love to hear from you!
