This toque fits snugly with a short brim, and knits up quickly for a lightweight but distinctive spring accessory! Add a pompom or tassel with your leftover yarn if you like, or use a contrast colour to add a pop to the ribbing.

Materials:

  • 1 skein of Tanis Fiber Arts PureWash Worsted, or similar weight yarn
  • 1 pair 4.5mm (US size 7) circular needles or DPNs

The Lone Pine toque is also featured in an eBook of accessory patterns with the tree motif - make yourself a cowl and mittens to match! Two skeins of TFA PureWash Worsted will make all three accessories.

If you’re not interested in pine trees, this pattern is great on its own! Use that wild speckly skein or just a plain one to make a toque that matches everything.

To make this toque larger, try using a larger needle and aran yarn. If you add stitches, keep in mind that the initial increases are in groups of 15, but the crown decreases are in groups of 10!
