This unusual knitting stitch makes the perfect open weave knitted scarf, especially if you like your scarves long and skinny. The stitch, which shows off variegation to it’s best, is made with fingering weight yarn on size #6 needles. It is 4 1/2 inches by 74 inches, excluding the fringe. The instructions include a picture to assist you in learning the stitch.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of knitting, purling and yo’s)

The scarf is perfect for air-conditioning or if there’s a nip in the air. If you have some sock yarn that you haven’t decided what to do with, you could easily use it for this scarf.

This particular scarf was made with Poet Seat Fingering yarn which is available at the Kangaroo Dyer, on Etsy, and one skein was sufficient.

The pattern also include instructions for an optional crocheted edging.

I am known on Ravelry as “anewyarn123”.
