These cute Santa Paws and Helper hats for dogs are easy to knit, great for practicing short rows, stranded knitting, and I-cord. The hats have a modular construction, with some modifications for adding Stranded Colorwork to the Helper’s Hat.
The cone is worked sideways flat, using short rows to form six wedges, then the cast on and bind off edges are sewn together. To form the brim, the stitches from the base of the cone are picked up, and worked in the round. The tip of the hat is embellished with a pompom, and to keep the hat in place, there is an I-cord attached, that goes under the throat.
