This is a rather simple name, but after all, I have created a really simple pattern - at last!

A loop is a cowl which is long enough to be wrapped around your neck twice. Loop 66 can be worn from the outside or from the inside, just as you like. It’s not reversible in the sense that both sides look alike or even similar, but that is an advantage: you will feel that you have two new cowls in your wardrobe.

Please see also matching hat design https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/notched-hat by Sabine Pera für “Das Regenbogenschaf”.

There are two variations for the loop
• The “66” (sts) version which is knitted back and forth in rows of 30cm, and joined with 3-needle-bindoff when you have reached a length of 120cm
• The “266” (sts) version which is knitted in rounds, which, on one hand, is much easier to work, but on the other, puts some limitations on the color gradient (it has merely 30cm to develop).

Yarn requirements
Main color (MC):
about 300-350m of a sport weight yarn in a neutral color. (For the “266” sample, I have used Das Regenbogenschaf (Pascuali) Cairo, 300m/ 100g, 100% Camel, undyed.)
You can find the currently available colors here:
https://www.das-regenbogenschaf.com/garne/cairo300/

Contrast color (CC): about 250-300m of a fingering weight yarn (or 2 lace yarns held together), optionally with a gradient. You could use a gradient set which comes pre-configured by a handdyer, or choose your own selection of matching colors. (For the sample, I have used two threads of Das Regenbogenschaf Alpaca Lace, 400m/ 50g, 100% Alpaca, and only replaced one thread at a time for extra soft color transitions, so I have used 2x 300m.)

The yarn company of the suggested yarns has recently changed its name: from Regenbogenschaf to SKUDDERIA.

Needle size and gauge
• 3,5 to 4,0mm for MC, to achieve a stitch gauge of about 22.
• 2,75mm to 3,0mm for CC.
