Easy pattern for a loop stitch beard, fastened behind the ears with a giant cabled loop. Knit in flat with double yarn.

The pattern is one size

Two 50 gram skeins, worsted - make sure it isn’t itchy! - will make two beards.

I wanted to knit a beard for Christmas, but wasn’t happy with any of the techniques I found online. Then I remembered this crazy jacket pattern I had seen in one of my old 70’s magazines, and used the looped stitches. I have long hair, and didn’t want an elastic band messing it up, so I made some giant loops to hang the beard from my ears.

I finally got around to translate the pattern into english, but I am afraid the translation may not be very good. I got some help from fellow knitters on reddit, but still it was very difficult. If you have any problems or suggestions please, please contact me. I just want the pattern to make sense so that beards can be knit around the world.

Edit: I just got a message from the first person to successfully follow my patters, she said she had zero problems!
