Lorelei Socks
:gb: …Suomeksi alempana :point_down::skin-tone-2:
Gothic arches climb from toe to knee in traveling cables of twisted stitches. Lorelei is a knee-high sock that turns cathedral architecture into knitting: sharp, sculptural lines with light and shadow on every round.
The socks are knit toe up, starting with a figure-8 cast-on. A gusset and a short-row heel lead into a patterned heel flap, where the cables continue down the back of the heel. Shaping on the back of the leg follows the curve of the calf, so the socks stay up without a tight cuff.
Lorelei was the siren of the Rhine, luring sailors onto the rocks with her song. These socks will lure you into “just one more round”.
Sizes: 20 [21.25, 22.5) cm / 8 [8.25. 8.75]“ foot circumference. Foot and leg length are adjustable.
Yarn: DROPS Nord (45% alpaca, 30% polyamide, 25% wool; 170 m / 50 g), 3 [4, 4] balls. Shown in color 25, Sweet Orchid. You’ll need about 510 [600, 680] m of fingering-weight sock yarn.
Needles: 2.5 mm (US 1½) DPNs or circulars for your preferred method of small-circumference knitting.
Gauge: 32 sts and 36 rows = 10 cm (4”) in stockinette stitch.

Lorelei
Lanka: DROPS Nord (45 % alpakkaa, 30 % polyamidia, 25 % villaa; 170 m / 50 g), 3 (4) 4 kerää. Kuvan sukissa väri 25, Sweet Orchid. Tarvitset noin 510 (600) 680 m ohutta sukkalankaa, jalkaterän pituudesta riippuen.
Puikot: 2,5 mm sukkapuikot tai pyöröpuikko omalle suosikkimenetelmällesi.
Neuletiheys: 32 s ja 36 krs sileää neuletta = 10 cm.
Muut tarvikkeet: 3 silmukkamerkkiä, apupuikko, parsinneula.
Tekniikat:
- Kahdeksikkoluonti (linkki videoon)
- Kierretyt, takakautta neulotut silmukat
- Lyhenteet jokaiselle palmikolle nurjan puolen versioineen
- Teknisesti tarkastetun ja testineulotun ohjeen kolmessa koossa
- Englannin- ja suomenkielisen version
