For advanced beginner/intermediate lace knitters, pattern is fully charted & includes line-by-line instructions (Book version is charted only- includes no line-by line instructions). I heavily tweaked an old family favourite Irish lace motif for this scarf. It has a ‘right’ & ‘wrong’ side, but is equally attractive on both & the 32 row repeat is easy to establish both in rhythm and pattern development. Worked over multiples of 6 sts, charts switch at the center to mirror-image right & left sides, with 5 of the 6-st repeats per side to the central purl stitch. This symmetrical design is worked in 2 Identical panels of 4.75 motifs each in length (work only 24 rows of the last motif) then grafted at mid-length as shown. The edges are flanked on each side by a simple single seed st.
