Lorien leaves shawl
I was dreaming about huge shawl with leaves in bigger stripes, something soft and cozy, something which even elves would like to wear in colder days :)
So I designed a Lorien leaves shawl - easy looking, big and cozy shawl, where the sections of stockinette stitch and sections with leaves are changing.
I highly recommend to use Soft Donegal yarn - two important reasons:
1) It´s very good for blocking, nicely keeps it´s shape (the leaves may be a bit plastic - but it´s really beautiful then!)
2) the tweed yarn looks amazing in plain stockinette sections :)
If you would like to use some different yarn - feel free to do it - but please, make sure how the yarn acts when blocking.
Shawl measure app.: 180 x 76 cm
You will need: App 970m of yarn, 3,5 mm needles (or needles suitable for the yarn) about 100-120 cm long; 8 stitch markers; tapestry needle for weaving ends
For the original shawl, there was used these colours:
- all stockinette sections - Silver mist (grey): 365m / 399yd
- CC1 - O´Byrne (light green): 100m / 109yd
- CC2 - Killala (green): 179m / 196yd
- CC3 - Graney (dark green): 319m / 349yd
