This beginner-friendly knitting pattern contains instructions for a basic headband, a detailed how-to section, and seven fair-isle charts for you to try. The charts are all inspired by small details in the Lord of the Rings movies - clothing textures, handheld items, and general vibes. All seven headband options are pictured.

The pattern has not been tested by other knitters, but does contain lots of information on how to get started with fair-isle, how to catch floats, and how to maintain even tension, as well as links to video tutorials I’ve recorded. Fair-isle may look intimidating at first, but I absolutely think beginning knitters can take it on!

The charts in this pattern are slightly taller than those in the Basic Hat pattern, but they are the same width. This means you can swap the charts out and use them for either project! There is only one size, but this pattern fits most adult heads. However, I think I knit loose, so it may help to adjust yarn or needle sizes to get gauge.
