This rather necklace than collar was made with some leftover lace mercerized cotton and a no. 2.5 hook in about 30 minutes.

It includes the petal part of a vintage lotus flower pattern, apparently published in a 1915 magazine. I picked it up last summer on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GP3tigbtIOI), but it’s also available (and well explained) here, on Ravelry.com.

It can be made with any yarn, depending on your taste and on how you can tolerate the respective yarn on your skin. My idea was to wear it around my neck as a necklace, but nobody could possibly stop you from sewing it on a top as a collar or from wearing it in any other way you’d like.

The idea is to use up some leftover yarn that you have no other plans with, and to add a touch of colour to an outfit.

I hope this is another quick and easy project that’s likely to make you smile.

Enjoy!
