A soft merino toque in a warm and wonderful colour is the perfect winter accessory! Add an opening lotus blossom as a repeating motif – created with complex looking cable crossings and you have a wonderfully interesting winter accessory to create!

The cable only looks difficult – if you can work a cable you can create this knot! The knot is built up from ribbing that travels across the reverse stockinette background. The ribs weave over and under each other and then separate to become the Lotus petals.

The lotus blossom is shaped with extra stitches to counteract the pulling in of the cable knot and those stitches are added and then removed as the hat is knit! The pom-pom is the perfect finish and adds interest to the otherwise very plain crown.

Pom-pom takes approx. 50 yds of the suggested yarn.
