Katherine Durack’s beautiful Half-Moon Clutch was designed for a bride to carry at a country wedding. The design borrows motifs from two sections of the tablecloth that Bob Fry crocheted for his niece, Donna Fry: the outer geometric border and the flower at the center.

Gauge:
1 motif = 2 5/16 inches (5.9 cm) diameter (from star point to star point), unblocked

Materials

  • DMC Baroque, 100% cotton thread, bedspread weight, 416 yards (380.4 m)/75 gram (2.6 oz) skein, 1 skein of White;
  • Coats Closed Bottom Fashion Cutwork Zipper, #F65, 22 inches (55.9 cm), White;
  • Skacel Addi Crochet Hook, steel, size 8 (1.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Tapestry needle
  • Fabric, ½ yard (0.5 m) of 100% cotton (shown: Quilt Block Quarters Violet Flower)
  • Pellon Craft-Fuse #808, ¾ yard (0.7 m)
  • Sewing needle
  • Sewing thread, White and to match inside and outside lining
