Have you ever seen the flower Love in a Mist? (Nigella damascene?) It has wonderful petals, bracts, and intense black seeds. This design captures the essence of those wonderful flowers.

The sweater is knit top-down, beginning with a ribbed collar. The collar is shaped using German short rows, and a video link is included. It is seamless, using circular knitting for both body and sleeves, which allows you to try it on as you go. The sleeves are picked up and knit in the round to the cuffs.

The pattern is completely adjustable: Make it as long or as cropped as you want. Make the sleeves short, 3/4, bracelet-length, or long. And feel free to play with color. Sleeves can be knit straight (without decreases) to create a slight bell shape that is then pulled in at the cuffs, or you can elect to do a more traditional sleeve, with decreases incorporated.

Sample was knit using De Rerum Natura Ulysse as the background color, and Spincycle Yarns Dyed in the Wool for the design.
