The New Leaf Wrap is very similar and is much easier to knit! It is a better choice as a first Fusion Knitting project. Please also see the New Leaf Cowl

This scarf/wrap is completely reversible with vines of leaves climbing up its length. The leaf design is created using the Fusion Knitting technique that creates a drapey fabric where the two sides look like different colours.

The wrap is made from a Freia Fibers Yarn Bomb (Starfish) and 2 Shawl Balls (Ecru) and it is what I snuggle with at the cottage – the colours, the cozy feel and the motif are so perfect for cold mornings knitting by the fire.

The scarf shown is knit the Blue Brick Escarpment DK yarn and works 1 repeat of the leaf pattern. It is stunning when wrapped around your neck to show off both sides of the distinctive design.

This scarf/wrap is knit flat. Two yarns are used. The MC yarn is used in the top and bottom edges and in an i-cord border. Some lacework techniques are used to create a sense of movement in the leaves and fabric.

The Love It or Leaf It Cowl is knit in the round and is easier to work. The Reversible Step Series are patterns that introduce Fusion Knitting. Fusion Knitting Tutorials show how to do the most commonly used cables without the use of a cable needle.

This pattern works very well with 2 distinct semi-solid or solid colours of yarn. You can also pair a semi-solid or solid coloured yarn with a gradient, variegated or speckled yarn. I recommend that at least one of the yarns is solid or semi-solid. Please see my posts about choosing colours.
