Sometimes, for me, the most satisfying knitting is simple enough to settle into, with just enough going on to keep things interesting. Love Lane Mitts (named after the street at the corner of my block growing up) are knit sideways in garter stitch, with short rows creating their shaping, and a contrasting color appearing in unexpected places along the way. I love a chance to play with colors!

Relaxing to knit but never boring, the clever construction gives even an experienced knitter something interesting to watch unfold, with lots of soothing garter stitch to make it meditative or ideal for binge watching your favorite show.

The result is a comfortable pair of mitts with clean lines, unexpected shaping, and just a little pop of color — proof that sometimes the simplest stitches can take you somewhere surprising.

Pattern uses about 250 yards of the Main Color and about 20 yards of the contrasting color
