Originally part of our deSTITCHnation Kit Club, these fingerless mitts have a simple heart lace pattern that trails delicately down the back of the hand. Choose a length from wrist to mid-arm and knit a pair for yourself or a loved one.

Written and charted.

Yarn: Wonderland Yarns “Mad Hatter” sport weight, 100% superwash merino, 344 yards/4 oz skein: 1 skein.
Shown in “Roses Remark” (burgundy tonal) & “Zurich” (burgundy/gold variegated)

Needles & Notions: US size 3 and 4 double-pointed needles; (or size required to get gauge), darning needle, 4 stitch markers

Gauge: 25 sts & 30 R = 4”/10 cm with larger needles in stockinette stitch in the round

Measurements: One size fits most adults; three lengths are written: wrist, (mid-wrist, mid-arm) 7.5”around & 6”(8”, 10”) long

Note: Each heart motif measures approximately 2 inches, so you can add additional repeats for a longer mitt. One skein of Mad Hatter yarn is enough for 2 pairs of mitts, in any of the lengths written.

Skills needed:  CO: cast on; BO: bind off, K: knit; K2tog: knit 2 sts together; m: marker; m1r: make 1 st right leaning:  insert the left needle from back to front under the bar, knit through the front loop; m1l: insert the left needle from front to back under the bar and knit through the back loop; P: purl; psso: pass slipped st over; PM: place marker; R & Rs: Round & Rounds; RM: remove marker; sl1: slip 1 st; ssk: slip the next 2 stitches, one at a time as if to knit, to the right needle.
