This pattern was designed for Sara, a great friend of mine as I did my knit socks for all my friends challenge. The pattern was designed to suit her fabulous style and colour pallet and to keep her feet cosy around the house. When my mum saw this sock pattern she said she would love a pair of gloves and matching hat. So the pattern became a matching set.

The pattern design includes hearts and is a perfect knit for your loved ones!

Pattern Notes:
You could knit this pattern with any cream and self striping 4 ply sock wool combination to best fit your desired colour scheme. I find that colourwork knits up a little tighter than standard 4ply patterns. Bear this in mind when figuring out how many stitches you want to cast on.

Materials:
Yarn A: West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply wool in Milk Bottle (cream)
Yarn B: Opal Funny Fruits 4 ply yarn in Himbeerbussi (self striping pink/purple blend)
3.25mm 40cm circular needle (I used the knit pro swivel interchangeable sets) or 5 3.25mm DPNs
DPNs size 2.5-3.25 (any size within this range should work, you will only change to these at the very end of decreasing for the crown)
One stitch marker

Size:
Standard pattern knits for a head circumference of 56-60cm (when circumference is measured from just above the ears). However this pattern is highly adaptable for your required sizing. To increase/ decrease the width of the hat change by sets of 8 stitches. To increase the length of the hat do another pattern repeat before decreasing for the crown.
