Lovelight Socks
In knitted warmth, soft and bright,
Love shines through like golden light.
A tender glance, a gaze so true,
A quiet glow between us two.
In gentle moments, in hands held tight,
Lovelight lingers, burning bright.
The Lovelight socks begin at the cuff with a tidy rib that flows neatly into a cosy textured sock of simple but eye catching stitches. The pattern contains three sizes, small, medium, and large and is worked top down with a slip stitch heel and a flap and gusset construction. They end with a rounded toe. This timeless design would look beautiful in almost any yarn, a tonal or lightly speckled yarn will really show off the pattern.
Sizes
S (M, L) the sizes are measured on leg and foot circumference as the length of the foot is adjustable
Finished Measurements
Leg length 15cm / 6” from the cuff to the start of the heel
Leg and foot circumference 15cm / 6” (18cm / 7”, 20cm / 8”)
Gauge
36 sts and 48 rows per 4 inches/10 centimetres in stocking stitch worked in the round
Yarn
You will need approximately 70g (80g,100g) of fingering weight yarn I used The Wool Barn Cashmere Sock in the Coral colour way
Needles
A set of 2.25mm needles for knitting a small circumference in the round or size needed to obtain gauge.
This sock does involve cables which can tighten up your knitting, I have designed this pattern with eyelets either side of the cable to balance this out somewhat but you may be more comfortable using a needle a size larger for a more comfortable fit.
Notions
Stitch markers - different coloured ones may help
Darning needle to sew in your ends
Cable needle - I use a plastic locking stitch marker instead of a cable needle. It’s smaller so won’t get in the way when you work the cable and when you are not using it you can just attach it to your knitting.
