Lua
Lua is an oversized dolman-sleeve sweater worked sideways, featuring cabled panels on the front and back. Short rows at the start and end of the panels create the angled lines of the design and shape the shoulders and sleeves for a better fit. Details such as optional crochet finishes at the neck and hem ribbing, combined with decorative side-seam bind-offs that flow into faux seams on the sleeves, give the sweater a refined look. Turning the cables sideways not only creates an interesting effect in the finished piece, but it also makes for a fun and refreshing way to knit a sweater.

NOTES
The sweater is knitted sideways, starting with a Provisional Crochet CO at the left edge of the cabled front panel. Short rows create the angled edges at beginning and end of the panel. The back panel is then worked and the pieces are seamed at both shoulders. The left side is then worked in Double Moss St to the side seam, which is bound off. The right side is then worked in the same way. After the underarm shaping, the sleeves are worked in the round in Double Moss St and shaped down to the 2 x 2 Rib cuffs, which are finished with a Tubular BO for 2 x 2 Rib. Finally, stitches are picked up for the hem and neckband and worked in 2 x 2 Rib, with optional crochet edgings at the picked-up edge. The neckband is folded double.
