Lucia Slippers

To celebrate the launch of this pattern, it will be 20 percent off until December 3rd, at midnight MST.

This is my 23rd scandiwork slipper pattern and I’m crazy about it!
Start knitting this slipper at the heel. The heel is worked flat and then stitches are added for the instep and the rest of the slipper is knit in the round. My slippers are inspired by Norwegian Selbu Mittens. They are super fun to knit, wear and give as a gift. When I give them as a gift, I don’t wrap them, I tie a just Nordic ribbon them. I think they are too pretty to hid behind wrapping paper.

My Lucia Slippers were inspired by the Advent Season and the design is filled with symbols of hope, peace, joy, love, and light. My favorite part of Advent is celebrating light with St Lucia. These slippers have reference to light from top to bottom, on the front and on the back. I hope that you will make these slippers during this joyful season and that it will help make your season merry and bright. Most of all, I hope that this season will bring peace and joy to the world. I hope that you will make these slippers for the season, but that they will also keep you warm them all winter long!

Thanks for knitting with me!
xxx Kristin

Gauge and Swatch
Swatch in colorwork. Women’s Slipper 24 stitches/24 rows = 4 inches or 10 cm
If you need a larger size, determine gauge, then move up a needle size for a bigger slipper. If you need a smaller size, go down a needle size (from gauge) or shrink them a bit by extra felting in hot water. This sizing method really works! But you first you have to get gauge.

Sizes- Note: Needle sizes are only a suggestion. Please swatch to find the perfect needle size for you!

Women’s medium US shoe size 6-8 (Euro 36-39) knit with 3.5 mm (US 4), US Shoe Size 9-11 (Euro 39 -41) with 3.75 mm (US 5), US Shoe Size 4-5 ½ (Euro size 34-35 with 3.25 mm (US 3)
Unfelted slipper at gauge: 9 1/3” x 5½” / Felted slipper: 9¼” x 4½”
Men’s slipper US 8-11 (Euro 41-44) worsted weight wool and with 3.5 mm (US) 4

I love that these slippers teach all of the skills used in stranded colorwork. They are a crash course for colorwork. If you can knit these slippers, you can knit anything in colorwork.
