Update 12/11/2019 - I have added a chart of the lace pattern for those who prefer charts to written directions.

This being a scarf, gauge is not really important. Just be sure you like the resulting fabric using your preferred size needle. I was happy with size 3, but you may not be. Make sure you have plenty of yarn and feel free to experiment!

The scarf pictured used about 250 yards of laceweight yarn and ended up being approximately 64 inches long and 7 inches wide and blocking.

The Grace Notes motif is a multiple of 15 stitches. If you want your scarf wider, no problem! Just add stitches in multiples of 15, between the border stitches. Use additional stitch markers to keep track of your lace panels.

Want a heavier gauge scarf? Try a thicker yarn and larger needles. I could see this in a DK weight, knitted on US4 or US5 needles. Just bear in mind that you will need more yarn to reach your desired length.
