This is just a sample of a motif I made. It utilizes double crochet mesh, treble crochet, and shell stitch.
You can make it however you want. It just needs to be a multiple of 8+1 so when you skip to the second stitch from the hook, you have a multiple of 8.
I DO NOT use turning chains.

My sample is 80 stitches wide.
