Luciole pullover is knitted seamlessly from the top down with a relaxed, boyfriend-sweater fit and a textural slipped stitch pattern.
In French, Luciole is the word used for a firefly.

The stitch pattern is a lot easier to knit than it appears and easy to memorize and despite using two colors, you only work with one color at a time.

The pullover is started at the back neck and increased to the full width of the back. After the stitches are picked up for the shoulders and worked as the front of the pullover.
The front and the back are joined at the underarm and the body is worked in the round. The slipped stitch pattern is worked on the front and the back as well as on the sleeves.
The hem, cuffs and neckband are worked in 1x1 ribbing and finished with a tubular bind off.

You can easily made a cropped version and imagine them a with short or ¾ sleeves.
Fell free to work the texture monochrome or using different qualities of yarn.

For the main part
• 4 mm / US 6 DPNs or circular needles with a cable suitable for small circumference knitting for the sleeves.
• 4 mm / US 6 circular needles with a cable of 40 cm / 16 inches for the sleeves.
• 4 mm / US 6 circular needles with a cable of 80 cm / 32 inches for sizes 1 to 5 or 100 cm / 40 inches for sizes 6 to 9 for the body.

For the ribbing
• 3 mm / US 2.5 DPNs or circular needles with a cable suitable for small circumference knitting for the cuffs.
• 3 mm / US 2.5 circular needles with a cable of 40 cm / 16 inches for the neckband.
• 3 mm / US 2.5 circular needles with a cable of 80 cm / 32 inches for sizes 1 to 5 or 100 cm / 40 inches for sizes 6 to 9 for the hem.

Always use the needle size that gives you the right gauge! Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Luciole se tricote du haut vers le bas (top-down) sans couture. On commence par tricoter le dos en réalisant dans un premier temps un grand nombre d’augmentations. Les mailles sont ensuite relevées le long de chaque ligne d’épaule pour former les devants de l’ouvrage. Dos et devant sont assemblés puis tricotés en circulaire tout en poursuivant le point texturé.
Les mailles des manches sont relevées puis tricotées ensuite en circulaire.
L’ensemble des finitions de l’encolure, du corps et des manches se font en côtes torses
C’est un projet agréable rythmé par le point texturé.

Ce point n’est pas compliqué à réaliser, ce n’est ni du jacquard, ni des torsades. Vous ne tricotez qu’une seule couleur par rang. Vous pouvez donc aisément en imaginer une version unie ou pourquoi jouer avec différentes qualités de fils.

Vous pouvez réaliser une version plus courte à porter à la taille, manches courtes ou ¾.

Le modèle de présentation a été tricoté en Ulysse de De Rerum Natura 100% Mérinos d’Arles et Mérinos noir portugais cardé (185 m / 50 g)
coloris : « Poivre blanc » pour la couleur principale et « Doré » pour la couleur contrastante.

Métrage
• Pour la couleur principale, environ  (700, 770, 840) 920, 1010, 1100 (1200, 1330, 1460) m.
• Pour la couleur contrastante, environ  (600, 640, 700) 760, 800, 920 (1080, 1160, 1280) m.

Pour une version unie, additionner le métrage de la couleur principale et celui de la couleur contrastante.

Échantillon 
23 mailles x 32 rangs en point texturé pour un carré tricoté de 10 cm par 10 cm après blocage.

Dans le patron, toutes les mesures clefs sont indiquées en cm. Tant que l’écart reste raisonnable, privilégier donc un échantillon correct en nombre de mailles (largeur).

Matériel 
• Aiguille circulaire en 4 mm ou de la taille nécessaire pour obtenir le bon échantillon.
• Aiguille circulaire en 3 mm pour les finitions des manches et de l’encolure.
