You only need small amounts of 4-ply (fingering) weight yarn. Feel free to use your stash.
The knitting skills required are the basic knit and purl, however, take care when you are assembling the body parts. The kimono is sewn to the body and is not removable. Please note that the standing cat does not maintain its balance on its own and requires support.
