Lucy Steele’s Fancywork bag is featured in 101 Lace One Skein Wonders! This favorite pattern is featured in Madelinetosh Vintage & sock, and is just as lovely as ever!

The inspiration for this pattern comes from Miss Steele’s obvious desire to marry well, her chatter about trimming and finery, and generally fussy demeanor as compared to Elinor Dashwood. Beading and lace are plentiful, but the seamless construction leaves blissfully little finishing at the end. I’ve knitted up the same pattern in two sizes using different gauges & yarns, leading to delightfully different finished results.

You will have the option at finishing to utilize an integrated icord handle if you’d like your bag to have handles.

This bag does involve some beading.
