Lumi Tissue Cover
Lumi Tissue Cover
Yarn: DARUMA Soft Lambs (held double)
Needle: 4.5mm
Note: I cast on 121 sts (120 sts + 1 extra stitch to join in the round) and started decreasing on the 2nd round of the 7th color block. You may adjust the cast-on sts and decrease start point based on the size of your tissue box. If the bottom edge feels too loose, try crocheting a round of elastic sewing thread on the inside for a firmer fit.
1. Cast-on
2x2 Italian Tubular Cast-on (in the round) or your preferred cast-on method.
• Set-up: K1, (P2, K2) to last 3 sts, P2, K1. (Ensures K2 at all 4 corners when flattened).
2. Main Body: Striped Pattern
Change colors every 5 rounds
• Clean Lines: Knit all sts on the first round of each color change.
3. Shaping & Positioning
• Markers: With the color change point as the center of the long side, place 4 markers at the corner central K2 stitches.
• Decrease: At each corner, identify the central K2. Work as follows: k2tog (using the stitch before and the 1st K), then ssk (using the 2nd K and the stitch after). 8 sts decreased per round. Repeat for 8 rounds to restore the 2x2 rib rhythm.
• Final Rounds: Continue knitting until you reach the base color block to match the bottom before binding off.
4. Bind-off
2x2 Italian Tubular Bind-off.
