Lumme is a versatile and easy-to-wear crescent, worked in a very simple geometric lace pattern throughout the body with a more intricate beaded border. The border features one of the most beautiful traditional Estonian lace patterns, the stunning Water Lily.

The shawl is knit in one piece starting at the center top without a garter tab, and grows through rapid increases along the top edge. The body of the shawl is worked in an easy two-row lace pattern using only basic lace stitches on the right side and purled wrong side (CHART ONLY). For pretty sparkle and drape, the bottom border is beaded along the edge; however, all the beads are optional and the shawl will look just as great without them.

Sept. 28, 2019 - error in Chart B Row 5: squares number 19 and 67 should be ‘yarn over’ not ‘knit’ stitches to match the edges of all the other charted rows.
